Roger’s Rules of Ranging

1. Don’t forget nothing.

2. Have your musket clean as a whistle, hatchet scoured, sixty rounds powder and ball, and be ready to march at a minute’s warning.

3. When you are on the march, act the way you would if you were sneaking up on a deer. See the enemy first.

4. Tell the truth about what you see and what you do. There is an army depending on us for correct information. You can lie all you please when you tell other folks about the rangers, but don’t never lie to a ranger or officer.

5. Don’t never take a chance you don’t have to.

6. When we’re on march we march single file, far enough apart so no one shot can go through two men.

7. If we strike swamps, or soft ground, we spread out abreast, so it’s hard to track us.

8. When we march, we keep moving till dark, so as to give the enemy the least possible chance at us.

9. When we camp, half the party stays awake while the other half sleeps.

10. If we take prisoners, we keep ‘em separate till we have time to examine them, so they can’t cook up a story between ‘em.

11. Don’t ever march home the same way. Take a different route so you won’t be ambushed.

12. No matter whether we travel in big parties or little ones, each party has to keep a scout 20 yards ahead, 20 yards on each flank, and 20 yards in the rear, so the main body can’t be surprised and wiped out.

13. Every night you’ll be told where to meet if surrounded by a superior force.

14. Don’t sit down to eat without posting sentries.

15. Don’t sleep beyond dawn. Dawn’s when the French and Indians attack.

16. Don’t cross a river at a regular ford.

17. If somebody’s trailing you, make a circle, come back onto your own tracks, and ambush the folks that aim to ambush you.

18. Don’t stand up when the enemy’s coming against you. Kneel down, lie down, hide behind a tree.

19. Let the enemy come till he’s almost close enough to touch. Then let him have it and jump out and finish him up with your hatchet.

Christian Duty

The first duty of all Christian churches is to proclaim clearly the gospel of Christ as Scripture has revealed it to us.

This message is that man by nature is a deserving object of God’s wrath, utterly without hope of saving himself. Dead in his filthiness, he is without God and without hope in the world. But before all worlds, God the Father selected by name a people to be called by His name, the number of whom cannot be increased, diminished, or counted by man. When the appointed time for their redemption came, God the Son took on human flesh and was born of a woman. According to the predetermined plan of God, the eternal Word of God died on a tree as a perfect and efficacious substitute for His people, those whom the Father had given Him.

As the message of this gospel progresses throughout the world, God the Spirit comes upon the men and women selected for salvation and in a wonderful and effectual way, regenerates them; those whom God has ordained to eternal life believe. This being the case, what shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? No true child of God will ever fall from the everlasting arms.

So here is the task before us. The Christian faith calls us to nothing short of world conquest. Without the power of the Spirit anointing it, all the doctrinal reformation in the world will simply be words and more words.

Douglas Wilson, “Mother Kirk”

Memento Mori

Prepare yourself now while you have the time. Start thinking about your own mortality and what you’d exchange it for because one day you might be offered a trade.

Remember that you will die someday. The time of your death may be a mystery, but the character of your death is largely up to you.

Don’t be the man that plans on repenting at the 11th hour only to die at 10 o’clock.

Christ is King.

60 Day Reset

Every day for 60 days:

1. Workout every day at least 30 minutes.
– Use compound movements, cardio, and lots of variety. Think CrossFit or HIIT.
– Go for runs, put some weight in a backpack and go for a ruck march, etc.
– Use this time to better yourself with podcasts and audio books.

2. Choose a diet and stick with it.
– Low carbohydrate diets work the best: Keto, Carnivore, etc.

3. Drink at least one gallon of water per day. You will be surprised at this one simple trick. It will be life changing, I promise.

4. Turn off your television and get off the couch. Get a hobby instead. Trust me, you’re much better off without the hours of sedentary mindlessness.
– Take your family for a walk after dinner.
– Use the time after dinner for your workout if that makes it easier.
– Play games with your kids.
– Read more books.
– Have lots of sex with your wife.

5. Do this every time you feel yourself becoming less of the man you want to be. We all slip and regress. Life can get in the way at times. The only time constraint here is the 30 minute workout every day. The rest is just priorities and dedication. Before you know it, this won’t be a challenge or a periodic reset anymore, it will become a lifestyle. You’ll look back in a year and realize this was the best thing you could have done for yourself, your wife, your kids, your community, etc.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Aristotle

Get Tribal

As we transition from a democratic political environment, it is crucial that we reorient our thinking on certain things. Our entire lives–going back many generations–we’ve been sold the concept that consensus & majority agreement are moral values. Since we want to be good neighbors, our habit is to be open & welcoming to strangers no matter how different from us.

Those days have come to an end. The truth is those were never moral values; they were social norms & luxuries afforded our ancestors who built ethnically homogeneous countries. When the conditions change, that which is not morally required must be dispassionately reevaluated.

In the emergent social circumstances, you do not want a “big tent.” You do not want as many people as possible involved. You do not want as many viewpoints as you can find. You want the exact opposite. You need as few people as possible, who are in 100% alignment–to the point of losing their lives–who are dedicated to achieving the mission, whatever it is.

That guy who doesn’t have your background, your roots, your values? You need to view him as a potential threat, not to be trusted inside your group under any circumstances. If he really is an ally, he can be an ally from the outside, within his own people group–assuming your present interests are momentarily aligned.

The fact that clans, cell-based groups, & emergent prison structures all end up with the same rules isn’t because they’re bad or mean. It’s because the necessary level of implicit trust is on an entirely different level when every day is potentially a matter of life or death. We are now entering those days as normal, average people. Those who fail to ponder & internalize these lessons ahead of the merciless learning curve will most often pay with their lives. There will be no do-overs or runner-up prizes in what’s coming.

You’re going to have to make harder decisions than you’ve ever imagined. Many of you are going to have to treat immediate family members as the enemy, because they truly are. All of these divisions in community, church, & family over masks & injections & subservience to evil are both symptoms of the raging spiritual war, and some of its battlefields being thrown into focus for the first time.

And all of this is 100% Christian, despite the vacuous lies we’ve all been sold by well-meaning preachers. Jesus explicitly promised such division, especially in the last days. Our generation is utterly faithless & evil, and we are bearing the punishment for it. No one can complain, and no one can feign surprise. Everything that is and will happen is according to God’s plan, good and evil alike.

A Heart Like Our Own

“But within the willingness to die for family and home, something inside us longs for someone to die beside… Someone to lock step with, another man with a heart like our own.”
